I got's me a wood burning Vigilant II (like new, used twice, got it on a steal--almost).
The Vermont Castings manual states it needs a 8 inch flue stack.

Question: can I utilize a 6 inch pipe.

House I purchased already has a 6 inch double wall stack ready to go.
Can the Vigilant II be reduced down to 6 inches and still work properly?

Riddle me this question please.

If it has that 10x6"ish cast iron flue collar, you should only use it with an 8" chimney and stove pipe. That's 8" from the stove to cap.

can it work on a 6"? sure, but fishing line can also be used for shoe laces.
