How does a garn unit transfer it's heat to a houses domestic hot water system? copper coils? flat plate? side arm? any pictures?

The only one listed that you couldn't use is the copper coils, as putting yellow metal in the Garn could lead to corrosion.

You could build and install coils made of corrugated stainless steel tubing, though.

Mine currently is heating the HW coil in the furnace as it did before, but that will be changing next year. I will be adding an indirect WH and running it as an additional zone with it's own circulator. There are a myriad of ways to use the GARN to heat anything, as long as you can get the hot water into whatever form of HX you need.
