This is up close and personal. It's hard to watch the steady retreat and loss of glacial ice in our own backyard. 4+ ft of thickness lost per year is not trivial.

We need to get west ASAP. If we want to experience them in person. Still deciding desert SW or PNW for next summers long vacation need start planning soon.

I saw a headline this morning (but can't find it anymore) that glacier tourism is hurting the glaciers...
(Don't know if it's directly or via carbon emissions...)
