I can get these for 245 a ton. Is this a good price? I've never used them but I here they are a good pellet.

I heard they are a good pellet also. My local lowes had them about a month ago but only had 3 bags left. I went next day to get them and they were gone. They havent got anymore greenways in. The guy at lowes said when they have Greenways they go fast. I see there is a place near Baltimore that has them for 245 also. Good Luck.

Depends on your area and what your other options are. TSC has them around me for $224 a ton, but they were willing to match Lowes price, so I picked up 75 bags at $180/ton a few weeks ago.

I had read on here that they were a good pellet...dummy ME for not TRYING a few bags! I bought 12 bags...I don't plan on EVER buying them again. VERY DUSTY, LOADED with fines, LOTS of ash...decent heat but not worth having to sift them and STILL getting dust when SLOWLY emptying the bag. TRY A FEW BAGS and decide for yourself

Live in Great State of Tennessee and get them 200 a ton. No dust, little ash, good heat, baged very good (just sitting under porch). Get a few bags and try.

This is the best pellet that I have found here in central Illinois. Heat seems decent, but I really have nothing to compare it to. There are some fines, but it does not seem to be anything excessive. They do not seem to be too ashy either.
As far as price, I bought the last ton from the local TSC for $200 last Friday. They were asking just shy of $5 a bag. They were trying to make room for their spring stuff and I offered to take them all. You might try the same.

Compared to what a lot of you folks have access to ...we get mostly CRAP around here.
I test burned 2-3 bags last winter, and was very impressed. Didn't have any of the "issues" dobiemom experienced. I considered them to be one of the "sleeper" pellets back then.
As always, try 2-3 bags before committing to tonnage.

Dobiemom is right. Here on the eastern shore we have crap pellets to choose from. Around me right now the best pellets I can get are Wood Pellet Co. and they are not that great in my opinion.

When I called them they were at $4.79 a bag and it's just too far for me to go to justify even a test burn. The stores closer to me all have Ozark Hardwood Pellets. I haven't tried them yet, but at $4.79 I don't really need to.

I wonder if you both being on the 'shore' where it is very humid is entering into the equation. Possible that moisture is breaking down the pellets? The bags are not sealed. They have tiny holes in them on purpose. Were they stored outside or in an area where they were subject to mist? Shooting in the dark here.
Called the place today and they are sold out of the Greenways. Go figure. Looks like plan B. Find somethingn else.

Actually it hasn't been too bad...til NOW with all this rain! The WP Co are stored inside, the AWF I buy from F & P are inside, the Greenways I got from Lowes were sold from inside as were the Stove Chow from HD. TSC Lignetics were outside under the eave. When I buy pellets I'm a PITA...I check EVERY BAG for rips/seam separations/holes/hard lumps When I get them home they are stored in my spare room.- Status
