Harman 52I-TC Install Questions

Hello,

I have a 52I-TC install scheduled for the end of the month. The installer came out a few weeks ago to take a look at our existing setup, and other than noting that a sheet metal extension will have to be laid atop the carpet in front of the insert for protection, he didn't note any concerns. Since then, I've been reading through some posts on this forum and am not sure whether a 52I-TC is safe to install in this fireplace. This being my first experience with something like this, I figured it would be a good idea to ask here before proceeding.

My questions are -

- What is the correct name for my current fireplace type? Heatilator, Heatform, something else?
- Can a 52I be safely installed in my current firebox?
- Would a zero clearance cabinet be required, or can the insert be installed in the existing firebox?
- Is it safe to run a new liner through whatever is there right now? Is there a certain type of liner that needs to be used?

I'm located in New Hampshire and want to make sure that this is done to code for safety and insurance purposes. Any help and/or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

That’s a masonry fireplace. You don’t need a zc box. Also, look at wool hearth rugs for your ember protection in front of the unit.
