Hello
Our Harman p61a (purchased 2013 or 2014) and it's run beautifully for years. This year, I heard a squealing noise, that reminded me of a pellet that was stuck. Immediately after, the stove shut down.
We did a thorough cleaning and it started up and lasted about a week. Same thing happened..
Squealing noise and then a hum (maybe a motor?).and shut down. Did an even deeper clean and it happened again immediately after we got it started up (and our hopes up).

Husband thinks we need an auger motor. I said call a professional.since we don't know what it is.i
I've called a few people But due to the holiday we haven't heard back.
Could this be a seized bearing and we need to replace combustion motor?
Thanks in advance!

You discription sounds like a motor bearing has seized!
Test each one
The combustion fan should come on as soon as you start the stove . Also, can use test mode on your stove
The auger motor should start to push pellets at the same time . Also can use test mode on your stove
To test your Harman pellet stove circulation (convection) fan motor, first, UNPLUG the stove, then visually check/clean for ash/debris clogging the blades and shaft; next, see if the fan spins freely by hand (minimal resistance). If it spins freely but doesn't run, use your stove's test mode to check for power to the motor; if power's present and it doesn't run, or if it's noisy/stiff, you'll likely need to clean/lubricate or replace the motor

I just pulled my auger and the bearing is part of it. So don't go an try ordering one. Describe how it shut down. Just completely stopped and shut off? All the components have there own sounds. Auger motor runs very slowly and makes a little rumble and you'll hear pellets dropping. I believe it's 4 rpm. Combustion motor usually will start making whining squealing noise before it goes. Same as the exhaust motor. Lol I've replaced them all. Have you removed any panels an listened or looked at them. The exhaust motor is on the back left side, combustion back right side. (Looking from the front Both on the bottom)The covers are easy to remove they will pop off with a screw driver. Start it up and listen, watch , or touch them to see if they are moving. The exhaust should come on immediately when it starts so that's easy you can hear it. Combustion only after it heats up. There's a test switch on the control panel that cycles all of them. Maybe use it first and listen to see which one is either not coming on or making noises when it comes on.

Check the status lights for the chart here…if it shuts down it will give you a code
