Harmon Room vs Stove Temp modes; can anyone explain them to me?

Have a new P61A and the manual and disti tell me I have the two modes, but neither can tell me why/when I would use one over the other or the differences.

Have had the stove in room temp mode since mid October and it has worked just fine ('cept for the disti blower noise) but I am wondering what stove temp mode is for and would it save wear and tear on the ignitor. Read some stuff here about the fire not going out in stove mode, is that true?

Just converted from a Cawley Lamay 400 (woodstove) after 30 yrs of use cuz SWMBO was tired of schlepping wood and ashes and me getting a two week vaca in eastern OR to cut Tam and Lodgepole every fall.. But mostly I'm trying to figure out what this new stove is all about..

When you put the stove in room temp mode, it maintains the room at the temperature that you dial in. Once the room reaches the desired temperature, and if that temperature is maintained for a while, the stove will shut down. I don't like having my stove cycle on and off repeatedly because I think it does wear out the ignitor over time. To avoid this, you can flip the ignitor swith to manual mode after your stove is running. Once the room reaches the temperature that you set, the stove will go to a minimum burn. I have heard that this is approximately 0.75 pounds of pellets per hour. In stove temp mode, the stove is maintaining a constant exhaust temperature using the ESP probe in the exhaust. The higher setting corresponds to a higher heat output. I like to leave my stove in room temp mode with the ignitor switch set to manual.

On my P61A in room temp mode you set your feed rate, your fan speed and the temp dial. Once the temp whereever you put that thermocouple hits what you have dialed in the stove then regulates that temp by turning it self up or down accordingly. I won't say it won't but mine never shuts off in room temp mode just goes real low when it hits temp. One thing to remember, in room mode it will only feed pellets as fast as you have set the dial so if you have it on 4 it will if needed feed pellets at least that fast no faster. same goes for the distribution blower.

in stove mode you set a feed rate and blower speed and then walk away. the stove puts out whatever you have dialed in and doesnt care what your room temp is.

but I think the best way to describe stove temp is to say it acts like a wood stove and just pumps out a regulated amount of heat non stop.....(crack the windows)
maybe they should call it wood stove simulation mode......... ;-)
