Although I have 5/half tons of good pellets in my Basement,
I was in HD last week and saw some FSU's..
so for the heck of it,
I grabbed a bag just to see if they we're any good or as crappy as Iv'e heard//.
I plan to only put in half bag just in case I need to cease and remove..
any expirience on them?

My opinion, they're not bad enough to have to cease and remove but they don't seem to throw out much heat. The ash seemed right up there with most of the pellets HD or Lowe's sells. They're not an awful pellet, I'd burn them, but for me personally I like Stove Chow or GS if I'm buying from the box stores.

I burned a bag of FSU with a date of 8/14. Burned insanely well, on all fronts.

I picked up 5 bags of chows for testing this year - never burned them before. I'm looking for some FSUs as well, but so far they have been elusive. Just a matter of time before...

Both are manufactured by Energex, confirmed this with an Energex rep, and I suspect stove chow abd FSU are only separated by bag, not content.

Chows are Energex American and FSU are Energex Canadian - they are made from different wood fiber.

ok... I have burned 2 tons of Chows this past winter so I do know them well.
Actually got my hands on the Golden pellets[Hardwoods] from Energex this season..0.5 ash is claimed.. we'll see.

by the way, although bagged and distibuted by Energex American, Chows are a bit darker in color and the smell when burned is different.. one is sweeter than the other.. Different smell also when bag is opened.

4 tons Burned great for me 2 years ago, have 5 tons in my garage for this year. I have zero concerns with them. Good pellet IMO.

I burned FSUs all year last season, and a good part of the year before. They were great! Excellent heat, low ash, reasonable fines, clean burn. I have no idea what they are like this year, but in my experience they far exceeded Chows, which I found to be filthy pellets.
