Question:
I have a room with a beautiful fireplace and don't want to ruin its look
with a gas insert and so am thinking of gas logs. I see that the
drawbacks are an small increase in CO and a small decrease of oxygen.
Being somewhat of a sensitive person this worries me. Would the
installation of an air exchange ventilation system solve these problems?
Answer:
A heat recovery ventilator would go a long way toward solving this problem. Here is a company that sells these... http://www.saveheat.com
11/2007 Saveheat seems to be gone, however a quick web search yielded many companies that sell such devices.
