So I was hoping to fill my owb with sand tomorrow and fire it up Saturday, and the sand I was going to use would come from my property. We have plenty. Problem now is that it has rained since Monday and everything around us is wet. My question is, do you think the fire would draw the moisture out of the sand, or should I look to buy dry sand from a place like Lowe’s? Any advice is appreciated. Oh, just so everyone knows, the bottom of the Heatmor is open, you fill with sand up to the grates and it becomes part of the firebox.
