I know these brands are from the same parent company. What is the reputation and quality of their gas fire places?

Heat n Glo INVENTED Direct Vent technology. I have a Heatilator
Gas Insert & a HnG gas fireplace in MY home. They are both quality units,
but if you want a comparison, Heatilator is a Chevrolet & HnG is a Cadillac

What is then, in your opinion, the Rolls Royce of high efficiency gas fireplaces that offers a heat distribution system? I am getting dizzy of all the many choices I see. We have 2 local dealers that offer many.
Not gonna go there. I have no idea what you want in a unit,
how big your heating area is, or how insulated & tight your home is...
My opinion is simply that - my opinion & others will agree or disagree.
I like Regency gas units as well as HnG.
Monessen, Valor & Jotul also make good units.
Look for the features you want or need, & find a dealer
that has what you think will work.
I suggest going EARLY in the day when there are very few customers in the store.
That way you can HEAR the blowers & determine if they are too loud for your home.
Play with the remote to see if it is user friendly.
Look at the flame presentation. Is it realistic?
Look at different fronts and/or surrounds.
Find a unit on line & photoshop it into a pic of the room you're
planning to put it in. Does it work?
See what service intervals are required & what they entail.
Determine if you can perform that service or if you need a professional..
Bottom line is that what works for me, may not work for you,
& MOST importantly, which one does your better half like?
