What's the low down? I see mixed reviews, does it come down to where they're manufactured? Pulled the trigger on 4 tons, without trying, but have the option of grabbing a few bags And trying before delivery. I refuse to buy nature's choice or freedom fuel. Ed

I've burned 8 bags this year, good heat but a little ashy. No chunks or anything when cleaning, all feed thru my auger without a problem. Not much dust in the bags if any.
I will buy again once I'm done testing a bunch of brands.

I bought 5 bags of these and they are pretty good. They burn very clean leaving very little ash. They don't burn as hot as Stove Chow or AWF Premium White Pine. Stove Chow is more ashy, but puts out better heat. The AWF is my pellet of choice this winter, low ash and burns hotter than any other pellet I've tried. This is in a Harman Accentra 52i btw.

Based on a three bags burned sample, they are one of the better box store pellets I have burnt. I found ash levels below normal(for box store pellets) and heat output to be above normal. I bought another 15 or so bags before HD ran out of them. I hope they get more!

I just picked up a bag of these at the local HD. I've been testing a few brands, and they had a few of these left laying there so I grabbed one. I'll post later in the week when I finally burn them.

Overall I'm pleasantly surprised with the heat'rs. Does not have the dirty ash or the hard cake that the FSU had in my stove. I'm convinced and many posts have said that with the box stores pellets what burns well in one stove does not mean the same in another. Overall I'd buy them again .

I bought a couple bags of Heatr's.

I was pleased, so I went back and bought a bunch more.

I must agree that the AWF White Pines do burn noticeably hotter, but are more money.

Cant go wrong I guess.

I bought 2 ton a few weeks ago.
Burning them as I type.
Good heat, ash not too bad, and virtually no carbon in the burn pot when I scrape it.
I'll definitely buy more if my local HD gets them back in

have burned thru 2 bags of heat'rs now after the Green supremes they ae a treat.. heat is only ok but compared to the GS the ash is much lower

I bought 10 bags, they burn okay. Not as hot as my Okanagan Golds, but they're $1 less per bag.

Lesson learned for me - whatever kind of wood these are made from irritates my eyes, nose and skin. I got hives on my hands after handling them yesterday.

I've been through at least a half ton so far of the Heatr's, they seem to burn pretty well. I'd agree with the comments that heat content is "ok." but not spectacular. I've had trouble in both my stoves getting them to feed down to the auger, they seem to cling to the side of the stove for their lives. I'm going to aluminum tape the hopper on the PAH when it empties out and see if that helps. Ash content seems to be standard to a bit high, but I was probably spoiled by the local brand we had a half ton of left that I started with.

Ok, after buying four tons of Heat'rs, I'm running into problems. I had loaded 3 tons into garage. Out of those there were about 4 bags that I returned because they were soggy. Exchanged for four bags of dry heat'rs, and they burned well. More recent bags are bad. Full of decomposed pellets, would not even call them fines. Low flames in both stoves, and from time to time stove has gone out. They don't slide down the hopper, and are clogging the auger. Worst of all the wife is complaining that the house is cold. I have a call into Home Depot, outdoor manager is supposed to call me back.

I bought about 30 bags....they burn great, but between the fines clogging up the auger and them sticking to the hopper and not feeding I have stopped using them.

no but I'm guessing they will take them back, but shipping etc might be on you.. will you ask for a replacement 2 tons ? can you enter a dispute with credit card or bank ? that might motivate them some since you have a legit claim of defective merchandise

I am not overly impressed with the Heat'rs I am burning either. I purchased a load of 4 tons after hearing some decent reviews (for a box store pellet anyway). Three tons appear to be packaged well but the 4th was a little beat up. So far I have found 7 bags of pellets from that ton that are no good, all with wet pellets. The problem is only two or three of them were actually punctured on the pallet. The corners of a significant percentage are not fully sealed, which allowed some moisture in, even inside the fully wrapped pallet. The other bags I have found have wet swollen pellets at those poorly sealed corners.

Compared to the Fireside Ultras I burned last year, they burn dirtier in my stove and have way more fines in the bags. I burned a leftover bag of the Fireside Ultras and a bag of Heat'rs back to back on the same day and my stove burned through the Heat'rs faster, even though the temp was the same outside and thermostat was at the same setting. Therefore, they might not be producing as much heat (at least in that unscientific single bag vs bag test). I am also running into some feed problems, possibly because the stickiness but I'm guessing its the heavy amount of fines. I have an Enviro M55 that burns most anything and after burning about 18 bags I'm running into the first feed problems I've had in the 2 years I've owned the stove.

Yeah, I've never had a problem burning. With the Heat'rs my stove would stop burning. Auger filled up with broken pellets/sawdust or pellets not sliding down the hopper. Biggest complaint low heat.

I traded a couple of bags of Timber Heat with my friend and as soon as I picked up a bag of the Timber Heat I could tell how much less sticky the pellets were just by the way they don't hold their shape in the bag like the Heatr's do. I loaded up a bag last night and they are producing similar heat to the Heatr's, but they are doing much better at feeding down to the auger like they should. He's going to try the Heatr's in his stove this week and let me know if he has the same sticking in the hopper issues.
