I have a Husqvarna 455 rancher chainsaw that wont start. I am not getting a spark. I have replaced the ignition module and gaped it. Still no good.I have removed the kill switch wire & sill no spark. As a last resort I replaced the spark plug and still no good. I am out of ideas any help will be most appreciated.

Replacement coil bad?
Plug wire bad?
Wires are off replacement coil, so only plug wire leaves coil?
Flywheel magnets have good magnetism?
Try a known good plug from another small 2 cycle - grounding on fins.

Thanks for responding. Wires are off the coil, flywheel has good magnetism, fins are not grounded, I replaced the spark plug, I haven't found a replacement coil that will fit this chainsaw yet. The flywheel has only magnets on one side I assume that is correct. The other side is just for balancing the flywheel? The new coil does not come with a spark plug boot you have to install it on the coil wire. After it is installed there is no way to make sure that you have continuity.

I meant when you test a good plug, ground the plug threads on the cyl fins. 2 magnets on 1 flywheel side - other side is balance. You can use the old boot. The plug wire connector has a point that jabs into middle of plug wire to touch center wire.
Russo on ebay has coil for $15. I found them good to deal with.

Try pulling the flywheel and check the flywheel key. It might have sheared off. They are cast into the flywheel. My 455 did the same thing.
