Ignitor on 55-TRPEP

Just received my new stove today. It's not installed yet but I wanted to do a dry run without pellets. Inducer runs, auger turns. I have 2 questions, first can I test the indoor fan without a flame? Second, the ignitor glows as expected but I can't imagine it starting a flame in the burnpot. It just doesn't get that hot imo. I was just wondering if that sounds normal or is it just my perception of a possible problem. Apologies if this is a newbie question. Just wanted to add that during and after attempting to start it is warm in the burnpot but not to warm to pick up etc.

I don't know if you can test the fan short of just putting 120 volts right to it. I believe the igniter works by getting super hot, but set back away from the burn pot and the air flowing between the pellets and the igniter creates combustion science and poof, fire.

Have no reason not to trust the blower but I am curious about the HSI though. Worse case the ignitor is weak I guess. I can't imagine it getting hot enough in there to light anything at this point.

The igniter doesn't heat the pellets or burn pot directly. It heats the air that blows on the pellets just like a hair dryer. The air heats the pellets and when they reach 450 degrees poof they ignite. Igniters either work or they don't for the most part. I expect if it glows it will work.

I'm new to pellets (ran an Englander wood stove past few years), but I just installed a 10-CPM Englander and I had a similar thought looking at the little red glow inside the igniter tube. Apparently the air pumped through the tube gets hot enough to ignite the pellets quite nicely, as evidence has shown now on multiple occasions.

Thanks I know thats the case with ignitors generally. I just couldnt imagine this lighting anything. Thanks for your response!
