Hi, just replaced the latching solenoid on my gas fireplace unit. The replacement was successful - fireplace now works - but I swear I'm smelling a bit of gas. It might be my imagination. So my question is - could a solenoid replacement result in a gas leak?

Thanks

Get yourself some bubbling compound & check the seals around the solenoid.
You may have pinched or compromised an O-ring or a gasket.
It could also be as simple as making sure the fasteners are tight.
