American Biomass is acquiring the brand name, trademarks and customer lists of Okanagan Wood Pellets from Viridis Energy Inc. of Vancouver, Canada.

Since AB doesn't product pellets, it just sells them, I'm not sure what that means for the actual pellets that are to be bagged under the Okanagan brand - whether they will live up to the expectations from past Okie users. Hope so.

American Biomass doesn't sound much different than Viridis Energy. Buy from small manufacturers and bag under a brand name. Quality should be interesting...

Doesn't say whether they actually bought the plant...

From what I understand, the Okies are now produced and bagged by the company Northern Warmth. Any purchase of the Okie Brand name does not include production. May be wrong though.

They did not buy the plant (AB is just a wholesaler). Someone else will be bagging that brand - just it will have to be solely distributed thru AB (or their authorized retailers). The could conceivably "rent out" the brand name also - there are pro's and con's to that.

Does Northern Warmth produce their own pellets or are they just rebagging?

Have Okies from last year and 5 tons of Northern Warmth from this year. IMO they are the same. No difference in heat or ash. Pellets are the same size and color. (Doug fir version) Oh and the same price too....EXPENSIVE!!!
