I just got word that my blog provider of over 20 years is shutting down at the end of September. So, I'm looking for a new host. I have no interest in trying to re-teach myself HTML (which I last used in the early 2000's).

I am looking more for a turnkey style that I can import my old posts into quick and dirty, then in a few months when I have more time, I would delve into a bit of customization. I do understand that pictures will no longer be associated from old posts, and that is okay.

Any suggestions?

You don't need any html chops to setup a personal blog site on a good hosting service via WordPress or similar package. WordPress is pretty easy and flexible, but powerful too. There are also turnkey solutions from WIX, Webador, GoDaddy, etc.

Yeah, I set up on Wordpress. Not quite as intuitive as I would like, their templates are pretty basic, and some functionality that was on TypePad is not present. Probably if I paid them more (I am paying them though), or went on the ".org" instead of the ".com"site, there would be more - but I think you also need to do more hands-on to make a functional blog. I've been making do.

OTOH, I've had trouble uploading pictures to Typepad for over a year now - coming up with weird errors all the time (and I do mean EVERY time I created a post), or it arbitrarily deciding that one picture was enough and it would quit. Since I mainly feature garden and project pics, that was a real issue for me. I haven't had any issues with uploading pics on WP, so that took away that frustration entirely.
