I have an interesting thing I figured out today. We got our new stove recently and as many of you know Jotul does not use a circular pipe connector that is tall enough to slip a pipe over on the stove top. I found out I was supposed to use a pipe adapter then put the double wall into that to make the connection. It never even occurred to me because we have never had to do that before on a stove. It has been running ok but I am curious what kind of problems can occur if you don't have the adapter? I am buying the adapter before we fire it up because I am sure the pipe does not fit snug without it.

I got the adapter kit with my new Jotul, but I'm not 100% sure I connected it properly. Are there any gaps that you are aware of on your connection? Here is a pic of mine:

The flange/adapter kit should ease the changing pipe conditions contracting, etc. when hot vs. cold pipe. Mine is a brass looking ring that tapers inside the pipe.
