Question:
We are building a new home up here in Eagle River- Alaska and wanted to put a wood stove in our basement. After pricing the pipe (we need 30' of it) and the stove itself we were looking at $3,500-4,500 dollars. Than we were looking at a direct vent heater that looks like a wood stove. They also are a little spendy ($1800). Is there any suggestions or someplace we might look at that is a little cheaper?
Answer:
$1800. is about the lowest price for a direct vent gas stove with piping. The only thing that costs less are vent free stoves- which I would not recommend in your climate.
