Glad they are looking to finally crack down on these 3rd party electric suppliers. A few years ago CT had massive problems with this and made a ton of changes. People were signing up for teaser low rates only to have the price double after a few months. Now to get around the changes they all have enrollement fees, cancellation fees, tiers etc. They especially targeted low income and elderly people.

CT and MA residents ended up paying 376 million dollars more for their power than if they bought it from their local utility.

I'm happy with my competitive electric supplier here in NH. I set a reminder on my calendar to switch once a year before the teaser rate ends. There are two supplier that have the lowest rates, plus a "come back" incentive flyer in the mail, so I just toggle back and forth every year.
