First fire this Summer... 16°C out and drizzle, going down to 11°C tonight, 9°C tomorrow, and 5°C Monday. I'll have to resplit and bring in more wood.

Eeee...where in NW ontario do you live? I am avoiding fires for at least another month and a half. With the ground nice and warm, my basement is 23 degrees and I will let the sun warm the upstairs for now...

It is at "C" stuff that makes you cold. ;-)

16C is around 61F to save people some time and Google some resources.

My wife is Canadian and as I'm reading this thread she starts laughing, she's a little rusty on her conversions. Looks like the Canadian folk will be starting early.

C or F, it's still cold. Got the house up to 70°F now so I won't need to put on a sweatshirt. Last night we had windows open trying to cool off the place.

As for how far North, we live very near the Canada/US border.

wish the temps were that cool here. my wife was yelling at me today cuz it was 80's and humid today and i kept saying did i mention i hate this weather. i really do hate humidiy. just cant wait for fall to get here.

First time since I can remember, I'm actually looking forward to fall and winter.

If I had to burn this early I'd move. Seriously, some of you started burning in August. My wood consumption would be massive(er).

You have a whole bunch of new experiences coming but they will be good ones.

Agreed! Love the metric system, but the "C" temp reading is far to imprecise for my taste...

Upper 60s and mid 70s is perfect weather. Hope it lasts... until April.
If it does, I'll be another year ahead on wood. :)

16C = 60.8

11 = 51.8

9 = 42.8

5 = 41

Doesn't sound too bad. Maybe a light fire to take the chill off.

61 for a high tomorrow here and a couple nights in the high 40's. I doubt if our wood pile shrinks any.

another tough place to live for winter, Michigan. Dennis do you get the lake effect snows?

We don't get lake effect snows here. When we lived at Gaylord and also in the upper peninsula, then we did get lake effect snows. In fact, in the years we lived at Gaylord we never saw a winter with less than 200" of snow. A little less where we lived in the UP, near Escanaba but that was because we were on the wrong side of the lake there. Still had plenty though.

We'll probably burn a small fire here tomorrow. We had 90's a few days ago
but much cooler today. Highs in the low 60's and predicted low of 41 tomorrow
night. Time to start visiting hearth.com more often.

Sitting here in shorts and a t-shirt with the a/c on. I don't think we'll be doing any burning for a month or so.

Just lit off the first fire of my Englander 30-NC. got to say, I love secondaries at 70 degrees outside. (Just installed it today)
