Drove all morning yesterday, Sunday, doing errands. Then went to Lowes to buy 15 bags of Prestologs ($4.38 a bag). Loaded them in the Jeep, get ready to pull out of parking space, brake pedal loses pressure and sinks all the way down. Brake light comes on, brakes are gone. Put it in park, check out the front drivers side wheel well, brake fluid dripping all over the place. I figure I was lucky it happened then and not on the highway.

Went to the customer service desk to let them know I would leave the car a few hours in the Lowes parking lot and not to tow it away. While waiting on line, I notice the couple next to me is buying a pellet venting kit. I start up a conversation about pellet stoves. They bought the Summersheat, 2,200 sq ft capacity for $2,200, I think. They are really new to pellets stoves, looking for a way to save on heating oil.

Anyway, I tell them to join Hearth.com for any questions they will have. I didn't have the heart to tell them they are probably going to have to silicone the hell out of that pipe to keep it from smoking. The woman was listening, the guy could care less. Some lessons are better learned hands on. She said, Hearth with a T H at the end? I said, Yes.

I advertise when I can.

Happened to my Wife's vehicle a month ago. Luckily she was on her Sister's driveway at the time.

I didn't pay that close of attention. I'll check the pm I got from Webbie. Hold on a sec.

How about the blown brake hose? did you get it fixed?

I called my dad to come get me and we loaded 10 bags into his Corolla, which was near the weight limit including us. When he drove me back to the Jeep for the tow, we loaded the other 5 bags on the Corolla, and I hitched a ride to my mechanic with the tow driver. It was 64 miles but AAA covered it all. I left the car at the mechanic's and took a taxi home. Long day.

I wish I had taken pictures, but then again a back seat full of Prestologs is nothing to get excited about.

Yup, tried to edit mine the other day and it wouldn't let me make a change....

For this old coot, Thats darn near an orgasm! Closest thing to s&x in the back seat I've seen lately! :p

Should have known better, put nothing past a Pellet Pig.

I have to admit, though, stuffing the bags in the back seat is rewarding in a weird way.

Later in the day I went to HD to get some Stove Chow's only to be told they were sold out. I had gone the week before and found about 10 pallets in the garden center stacked and wrapped tightly. It was close to closing time and I asked the garden guy if I could take some. He said they would put them out later in the week, come back then, there is plenty of pellets and time.

I only wanted to buy a few bags, but boy was I pissed that I missed out on some of those pellets. I felt like a fool for listening to the garden guy. I should have been a greedy pig and bought a whole pallet. Who cares if its closing time, I need pellets.

Your not missing much...stick with the Presto Logs, they burn hotter than the stove chow.

i hear good and bad things about them. the few times i have tried them, they are alright. haven't had Prestologs in years, but the reviews have been good. i like to get different brands.

In my area HD has Chow and Lowes has AWF. Never burned either but thinking of getting 10-20 bags of Chow.
