My new toy to curb my fuel oil hungry home.

So about two weeks ago i bought the Enviro Maxx to hold my house during the shoulder season and when my indoor vintage Jensen wood boiler needs a helping hand when it's going to hit in the single digits. Yes she is a basement dweller. I'am presently working on installing the heat distrabution kit, not sure yet if i will tie it into my existing hydro air system or set the duct work apart.

Very nice stove I've got the Maxx-M in my basement. Keep us posted how the Duct kit works (has not been tested/proved on the Maxx-M )

I'd love to hear how well that works. I'm thinking of a ducted setup for next year in my basement (ducts to bedrooms above) but want to heat the basement too. It looks like that allows heat to the room and the ducts at the same time?

This is what i'am working on heating my father designed the house and me and him built it on nights and weekends from july 2004 till sept.2006. These pictures are i think a couple of years old there is actually green grass in most areas now. About 3600sqft. not counting basement and garage. The room above the carport we don't heat in the winter (have exterior french doors leading to that space) unless there is a party or something.

I'm thinking hard about a Maxx-M and trying the duct kit. Local dealer can't (or won't) start one up so I can hear it though! As mine will be in a finished basement I'm guessing the sound to worry about is the air through the vent.

My real question to you, though, is how do you get to the heat exchanger cleaning rods??

I'm going to guess it's a certification issue. I don't think I'm going to let that stop me, as my building inspector has said he does not care about ducting outside the combustion path.

Hope to hear from Todd that it's been a good solution for him.

Got a chance to start the duct work into my hydro air system today with the help of a friend. Tomorrow night i hope to insulate the ducts and maybe fire it back up.

Here is the progression from stock heat grate to duct distrabution grate which comes off with 4 screws the grate has a key way so easy on and off without total screw removal and last is the setup i made with some sheet metel and a floor duct so i can control the amount off heat that comes out the front of the stove and can force more throught the duct work by closing it. It comes off the same way to get to the heat exchange cleaning rods.

Duct is rapped and ready to go if i get some time after work in the next couple of days i'll start her up would like to monitor temps the first time all closed up.

Since 12-7-13 have burned 258 gals #2 heating oil. 4-1 going back to pellets.

Your eyes (or resolution) is better than mine! I hope so. It just looked like down in the basement, he made a new hole into the chimney. Where's the cleanout or original opening?

Resolution on the big screen here at work is pretty good, also I am familiar with this particular house since it is in the same town my in-laws live in, pass by it all the time.

Great! The house design is really unique! I love it and wish I could afford just the garage! Or the car port! If I could afford that beauty, I sure as heck wouldn't be huddling around a 'space heater' all winter!

The chimney is a 4 flue one jensen wood boiler, fireplace one 1st fl.,buderus and the enviro Maxx. Most of the time i run the wood boiler. A couple of weeks ago i went up north skiing for the weekend decided to run the pellet stove i dumped 4 bags in about 5:00pm friday night put the a main air handler to the fan on position and turned all 4 zones of thermostats down to 64. I set the pellet stove to heat position 2 out of 5 and walked away. Upon arrival home sunday night at about 7:00pm the pellet stove was still running, the main house was 73, the upstairs was 69 and the far masterbed and bath was 67. I am very happy with the results of this considering the size of the house and believe it is doing exactly what i was looking for which is being able to heat the house during this time of the year. Next i will work on getting it on a wireless t-stat so it can ramp up and down as needed.

Options now i have 3 of them. I never was tring to replace the wood boiler or buderus oil i was was replacing a woodstove that was in that flue that was used only during the shoulder months.
