14yr old Enviro Maxx overheated, tripped high temp sensor & shutdown accordingly. The day before thought I noticed a 'crunching' sound while auger was turning. Emptied hopper (did not check under auger cover in hopper) & did not see any obstructions. Reset high temp sensor & gave stove full cleaning.

Upon startup, Auger motor run continuously & sounds like when bearings go bad. It will intermittently start cycling normal, but will eventually go full throttle. Vacuum hose seems to be clear & no noticeable problems on control board when visually inspected - triacs / relays, etc. have no visual overheating/scorch marks.

I'm guessing I should be replacing the auger motor (1st?) and/or the control board? My multimeter skills really suck so I'm kinda winging it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated as well as any recommended online parts dealers, thanks in advance!

In order for the auger to run continusly it must be fed 120v.
If there are no crossed or shorted wires, the control board is at fault .
Disconnect one of the yellow wires at the vac switch auger should stop.
If it does not, the yellow wire has a short to the auger motor. If it does
check wiring to the control board Loose or shorted to another wire
But I suspect a bad control board!

One of the lil black squares are shorted closed. The boards are repairable 😏

When either of the yellow wires attaching to the vacuum switch are removed, the auger does stop. I inspected the wire harness & didn't see any problems. When I looked at the control board a little closer, there is an ever so slightly discoloration (photo). Photo D is what is on the other side of that area.

So my hunch is that it is a control board issue. It was mentioned that they are repairable (which is more attractive than a new $400.00 board), Do members here offer this service?
