I have a new englander 25pdvc . Had it for a couple of years . I recently installed a rebuilt kit ,all gaskets and all motors .It starts up good after it been running you can see the fire drop down to nothing and then it will maintain . I had it go out when on 1 . Seems like it is starving for air. Changed from factory setting 951 to 541. It did run better . Went down the the 4 setting for fuel it almost went out . Any suggestions . The tech support at New England is great .i can't get through . I increased the fuel setting to 5 and went down a hour later fire out fan off ,no error codes .

good luck im having similar problems no answers yet and can never get through to Englander also mike Holton quit answering emails so im stuck with a stove that basically doesn't work right and eats pellets like crazy

Mine was starving and almost going out on 4-4-1. Set to 5-4-1, problem solved. It wasn't so much starving for air as it was starving for fuel.

Check the feed gate inside the hopper. The previous owner had it wide open and I was burning way too many pellets. Closed it half way, and it seems to run well.

Also, did a nice 8 hour burn tonight, no spot on the glass!

If it's still starving, try 6-4-1. If it's starving for air it will run rich and smokey, so that's probably not the issue IMO

update started watching unit and found I had no pellets .The upper auger motor was not working ,Changed motor I had from merkolf to a inner city and it is working .it appears after motor was running it would stop periodically .I may change back settings to factory setting .Where is this fuel gate. Thanks for help

A shame really. I can understand their service line being swamped at this time of year but it`s their own damned fault.
I`ve been saying off and on for years that the Englander manual should be giving much more detailed explanations of the settings and exactly what each one does.
No one except a few of us on this forum has a clue as to what in hell the push pad control is all about. Conceptually and in use it`s a good enough controller but not really user friendly for anyone but a seasoned user to grasp how it works and what the modes and settings do.

Emtim .... I just read an older post tonight about the upper auger ... it apparenty is supposed to run periodically. I don't know if this matches your timing or not .. but the 4 board 'mode' settings A-B-C or D effect the timing. I read elsewhere that the 25-PDF should be in mode C or D. In both modes, the top auger cycles on for so many seconds, then is off for a period.. Each is different. So ... maybe your auger motor was OK, but the mode (or other settings) might be off??

Yep. The upper auger turns on and off based on the chosen heat range/feed rate. The bottom auger runs continuously.

BrotherBart .... are you referring to the A-B-C-D 'mode' setting, or the normal heat range up/down arrows on the left?
So, the heat range up/down arrows would change this upper auger timing proportionally, as well?

Trying to figure out how all these things work together! With the wide range of installs ... vent and fresh air configuration, and the ever-changing pellet situation, it pays to have a better understanding of all the settings .. and not just rely on the two main ones.

The up and down arrows. At start up the board controls it all. Then the up and down stuff takes over. The mode might be wrong. For some reason mine got here in "A" mode. And ate pellets like crazy until I found out it should have been in "D" and changed it.

Very good! Mine appears to be burning much better now ... nothing on the window, hardly any ash build-up, but surprised I'm not getting hotter temperatures out of it. I thought I would get hotter exit temps with 9-1, vs 9-9, but after 1 hour on 9-1 it went from 88 to 102 ... then after 35 minutes in 9-9 it went up to 107. I figgured the faster room air setting would cool the stove down, and the lower would let it heat up more. ??

Correct the top motor does cycle intermittently .The stove was running about 20 min ,noticed fire was height was small check bottom auger not a lot of pellets ,checked upper auger ,found I had the voltage to it and not running, Any body used a inner city brand auger motor.
