Just back from the Mohegan Lake, NY, HD. They now have FSU, Green Supreme and a new - to me pellet. It is from an outfit called "Lee Energy Solutions" and seems to be called Nature's Energy. Anyone had any experience with them? Price for all three is $4.18/bag and $209/ton. Naturally I picked some up to try, so I'll let you know what I think but am curious what experience others may have had.

Only pellets I get from HD are Stove Chows......not hearing good things about GS but,
grab a couple bags and try them... If U have a Harman like I do, it laughs at cheaper grade pellets... may make lot of ash, but you'll get heat...
there are much better Pellet scientist here that are experts on the subject...
they have pellets for winter, spring, fall, Indian summer, Chilly, Nippy, frosty etc, just name the weather conditions lol
[turned me onto Stove Chows but I still bought about 6 bags to try before I bought a ton at 229.00]

Is the bag white with orange graphics? Cause if it is, I've seen it at Sam's Club but haven't tried it.

yep.. unless you get top of the line pellets,[Thurmans, Barefoot etc] the ash is usually more but,
you end up paying lot more than 229.00 ton.[usual Home Depot price] for Stove Chows, Green Supremes, Presto Logs etc....
we're burning wood here folks and wood creates ash so the trick is pay less but clean the burnpot a little more often..
sounds like a fair trade to me.. Mine get's shut down from 1am to around 7am so a quick scraping, and paint brushing the burn pot ash out takes 2 minutes before firing back up.
BTW: these HD Stove Chows seem to burn hotter than my Energex hardwood premiums..259.00 ton.

Burned 5bags of the Natures. Lots of dust and lots of ash . Cannot tell about the heat cause the Harman makes heat out of anything.

Yea we shut hours down on nights like tonight low 30s also when we are wrking.if I gtta run it 24 hrs I. The single digits days I use my cheeta vac to get the ash. That way On My 7 day cleans it's not piled up.on a tight budget so can only afford the box store pellets at this time.

Yes, I've burned several bags of Nature's Energy from Lee Energy that I bought to test. The heat was reasonable but less than Hamer's or Prestologs. However, they were by far the dirtiest, most crumbly pellet I've ever burned and produced very large amounts of ash. I would not buy them again unless desperate. My dealer was completely out of pellets as they couldn't get shipments for a couple of weeks due to trucking co. issues, and they picked up some of these at a local HD for their showroom stoves. We were comparing notes on them and they had the same experience in multiple stoves. I'll burn the 3 bags I have left in my MVAE as it will eat almost anything, but then I'm done with them.

I also burned a few bags of Green Supreme earlier this season to test. A cool pellet with lots of ash, and also on the "not again" list. In fact, while I cannot comment about FSU's as I've never tried them I thought, "Your box store stocks primarily junk pellets, too." Then again, my HD did stock Prestologs for a few weeks, which were surprisingly good. I think their buyers will take anything labeled "wood pellet" if the price is right. And my local HD has been out of all pellets for over a week now, as they move in spring items. Will be curious to see if they restock at all. I do not depend on them!

Last year I burned a lot of Green Supremes and was pleased with them, but I have not tried them yet this year - although I did bring a few bags home yesterday to try. The Lee Energy pellets sound like they will be a disappointment, so I will burn those few bags just before I plan on cleaning the stove anyway.

I have been completely happy with the Fireside Ultras [FSU] this year and, thankfully, have just over 2 tons left to get me through the season. My local HD seems to still be bringing in pellets as the demand around here has skyrocketed over the past few years since I started burning them - this is our 3d season. I must add that while the price went up from $187/ton to $209/ton mid-season that first year, it has stayed at that price point since.

I would really like those prices! Lowest in our area this season has been $229/ton.

While waiting for I hop I walked to lowes and they are out.

Was back to HD this afternoon. They seem to still have an ample supply at Mohegan Lake Store. Will be in the Wappinger store on Tuesday and will check it out as well.

Buy the FSU and don't look back. Best pellets I've burned in 3 years including Turman, barefoot. Didn't like the Green Supremes last year.

Same here !!!! My harman p 35i would burn dog poop and burn that very well 2!,,

Burned the Lees - in the stove right now. can't really judge how dirty they might be but the heat is great.

Wappingers is bare.

Was just at the Wappingers HD. They have no pellets now but expect a delivery on Thursday. The delivery was actually due yesterday but deferred due to the storm. So all in that neck of the woods, get ready!

As usual, they have no idea what brand will be shipped to them.

Hope they have some over the weekend. Ive burned 3.5 tons this season and I need at least one more to get me through. My harmon, burns anything well but the fireside ultras have been the best yet.

I just bought a ton of Lee from HD after my Lowes was out of the Green Team that I like. This Lee stuff is crap. Filled up the ash drawer after 5 bags!! I burned over a half ton of GT before I Had to empty it. Oh well, it was all they had left. Hopefully we are on the back end of the heating season.
