After 2 test fires in my new pellet burner, I have paint flaking off the burn pot and the pellet chute.

It'll be out of sight in no time hiding under a nice curtain of ash.
As you get used to this stove the biggest things to be mindful of are:
1. make sure that the heat sensor doesn't start to work it's way out of the ceramic housing above the burn pot.
2. pull the pot cleaning lever often and when it gets hard to pull use a big flat screwdriver to scrape the deposits off the top of the flapper door from inside the burn pot.
I'd say that's about all you need to know going into your first CB1200 season. Good luck.
