A friend sent me this video. We just had a steady rain and not much wind. I didn't realize it was so bad elsewhere.

I was on the boardwalk and beach in Seaside Park last night and the Seaside Hts boardwalk late this afternoon. The Seaside Park boardwalk is messed up in many areas and the ocean was still coming way up on the beach. Huge sections of the boardwalk are destroyed in Seaside Hts and as you can see by the video there is a ridiculous amount of sand there as well. They should have it cleaned up by say aound 2015!?! Wood is strewn all over the beach. The waves were coming in today as if a nor'easter was still blowin.'

Must be a long chair lift ride to the ski hill?

Isn't that what the ocean does? Push sand around from one beach to another? Would have liked to see the waves coming in.

beaches in NJ are always being attended to. look at the man made dunes in Atlantic City, made of tires covered with sand. I think the Army corps of eng. did some pretty extensive work down that way a few years ago. That chairlift thing is pretty cool. I bet thats a hoot to ride during a storm.

So that's where all our South Shore beach sand goes! Do you have a shovel and bucket to bring it back here ;-)

I'll tell ya what,,the wind was blowing over 55knots, sustained here in Pt.Pleasant, NJ. I'm surprised the weathermen didn't make a really big stink about this storm. We had a extreme low pressure system pushing south, that ran into the remains of the hurricane, pushing east. I've lived her for quite sometime, and only remember one or two storms that were worse than this one. But those storms were predicted. Its been beautiful the past few days, havent used the woodstove in about a week.

I was was in Florida once when hurricane Andrew hit and let me tell you THAT was scary! I hope to never see another storm like that one again! I thought my apartment building was going to blow away!

Yeah I'm pretty sure that sand was placed there, It does not appear to be beach sand. The beach in Seaside is pretty big, Don't think I ever recall the Ocean coming too close.. I'll have to look through my pics. I took a shot of that pier during the spring while fishing.

The chairlift pretty much runs the length of the boardwalk. I haven't been on it in 20 years!

Still a good chunk but this was before all the storms.

This was an awesome fishing trip. I met a celebrity Dolphin "Dolphin #56" He was folowing us so we stopped and he came right up to the boat for a pet lol
