Hello
Napoleon NPS-45 was one of the last stoves to receive a new digital control board. The older knob controls with the blue potted auger timing bock and blue potted relay module same as the old Enviro EF-2s and EF-3s was quite reliable but not T-Stat ready.
Like any newly designed electronic device rev 0 may have had some issues. The exact details is almost impossible to get but a few reports from satisfied users with a new control panel may be a good indication that if you have any issues, it may be a good upgrade.
In this case there with no surge protector on the stove and triac(s) failure causing the auger and igniter not to work, it is a good time to add a surge protector and upgrade the control board.
So I heard the new board has had at least 2 revisions? Can anyone verify that?
Here are the differences I have found between the 2 control boards and a few pics.

-- On Land Side

Pic 3 - Original board with Gray Connector on pins
Pic 4 - Left is new board and right is original board
Pic 5 - New Control Board

After installing the new control board, the stove fired right up!
