Hello everyone,
New to the forum. I wanted to get some opinions on this installation of thermal Pennsylvania bluestone for our hearth. It was done about a month ago by a recommended mason. The first image shows the full installation of three slabs. You can clearly see on the right slab how "wet" it looks on 90% of it. There is a clear line. In the other picture it appears that slab was dirty and maybe wiped up. You can also see when they grouted the seams it has a wet look. Any opinions on whether this will dry up and look better? This fireplace is in a lower level of a split house. Not super damp but I've been running a dehumidifier for the past two weeks. It's gotten a little better. Everything in these pictures are still evident. We've had the mason over to discuss our concerns. They say this is common. We think it's a bad job. Looking forward to what you have to say.
Thanks
