I currently have a running stove and am asking since this is a 97 model or test date that i should be thinking of having a good unhderstanding of what to do when the board does go bad due to pots . it currently has the 2 knob old style and i have heard that it is usually the two knobs or pots that are the problem , is it due to the constant non use in the usuall position and heat , anyway i have seen a spot on the ebay siter saying they repair them , i dont have a ebay account so i would like the address . but i have seen the 2 pots for sale on ebay as well and they state 500 or 1000 style pots and am not sure what the p38 uses . any insite on the problem would be helpfull . the pots they sell are 5 bucks or so and i also have read that a new style board is available as well . thought s on this would be helpfull and any parts like blower motors and combustion motors also . thanks and appreciate the education you can pass on . thanks

I can say the E bay pot repair/board repair site is good and I had them do my board. The pots are 50K. You can either go for the pot replacement or troubleshoot the whole board and give you estimate of repair..he does E bay and has a web site. I did mine with e bay and pay pal. Sure this is busy time for him, mine took about 2 weeks..

The replacement 3 knob upgraded board is $275.00 to $300.00..Or have a electronic repair shop/person replace the pots..

Thanks very much for the site name and is the new board any better of a unit with more features such as temp control and on

The new board has three knobs : Feed adjuster, Mode Selector ( room temp or stove temp) with distribution blower speed adjustment, and Temperature dial for when in room temp mode. Various lights that show power to different components. Also has a 60inch long room sensing probe for room temp.. This is the same board that is used in the newer P38, not sure the year it started..Harman web site has manual you can look at ..for P38..if interested..
