I've enjoyed the stove on the patio but have made some more changes and can hopefully gather some ideas. I removed the casters I welded on as I really want this thing on this wall below the TV. The interior baffles have been removed and the glass from the door has been replaced with a stainless mesh that has holes just the right size to not let any smoke into the patio area. This took some trial and error with different size perforated stainless! So it's essentially an open-door stove and because of this, drafts really well. It's not setup to really give off radiant heat like an indoor stove (which it still does) but more so heat out the front like a fireplace.
My question, because of the open-door setup.....do you think I could run single piece vertical from the stove and then a 90 to a horizontal pipe going to the left and then go straight up and have it dump towards the yard somewhere? Or do you think even with an open door it's going to be tough to draft through a 4 foot horizontal run? I could always just try it....but curious on some thoughts.
This is all just single-wall pipe and yes, everything is 18" away from combustible surfaces.
Open to any ideas I have not thought about as well!
