Pellet stove brush for heat exchanger tubes

I have the Hampton GCI60 pellet insert. I've always used a brush to get in between the heat exchanger tubes which produced a ton of ash falling down. I did this after using the scraper rod to knock some off before opening the door. The brush I used was actually an old potato brush with a handle and then a loop with bristles on all sides. It was the perfect thickness to get in between the tubes to knock down ash.

Anyhow, it broke and I cannot find another one of these cheap brushes.

So, i'm curious what other people use to get up there.

My stove has a tube scraper built in. I give that a few pulls then hit it with my ash vac and brush attachment.

I use a bottle brush on the M55. Fits well, can angle it and loosen lots of additional ash.

I use a small golf club cleaning brush. Can be found in any sporting good dept, walmart for example.

This is what I use. I bought it at the local hardware store. I didn't save the tag so I can't say who made it. It fits in between my tubes and I also use it to clean behind the exhaust panels on my Breckwell.

I use a scrubbe pad...sponge on 1 side/Rough on the other.
Yes...same green pad that get's used for pots/pans in the kitchen.

Bigger ones work well for cleaning in front between the tubes, the little ones get inbetween and behind each tube.

My Sig 45s come with some nice bendable brushes. Try going to cooking supply houses or brewing suppliers for bottle brushes. Thats where I got two different ones for cleaning the crosslink and a longer one to get to the Harman ESP. If in farm country try a farm store in the dairy section for milker inflator cleaners

Wallyworld has some nice flexible (twisted wire handled) bottle brushes I use for behind the baffles cleaning. Cheap too.

No comment on the pooch.
