Looking for input on this one. My EKO 40 boiler will need to be approx. 50 feet from storage with a few bends and corners to deal with. Is there a good reason not to use PEX for this or should this be done with blackpipe or copper and if so, why?

thanks,
Jim

I did, no problem, similar situation

There is a chart showing the strength of pex in high heat and pressure applications but I do not know where to find it. With a working, correctly applied/installed pressure relief valve the pressures of the EKO should never be able to exceed the limits of pex in a reasonable overheat situation. The thing to look up is applicable building codes in your area as sometimes what will work is not what the codes specify.

I thought I've seen other threads where they were saying that you should have at least a few feet of black iron pipe between the boiler and the PEX?
