Hi folks,

I think I may have figured out why my igniters keep dying, unless there's something specifically wrong with this one but I can't imagine it's the igniter.

So I had the stove off, for cleaning, and when I took out the burn pot the igniter tube was still glowing orange. I unplugged the unit and it cooled down, did the cleaning, then plugged it back in (still switched to OFF) and the igniter heated up again.

Any idea why it would be doing that? I've got it turned off for now, for safety.

control board problem?
Probably a shorted triac on the board the only two I can see are circled there should be 3 legs on these. Should be continuity between only two legs when stove is unplugged. If you have continuity between all three legs then that is the triac that is bad. Triacs are like on off switches sometimes they short off and sometimes on. With moderate soldering skills they can be replaced. Is this your board pictured below 250-00011 Video on triacs not your board but good explanation of triacs and how to replace

Looks like my board only has one triac, but with the board disconnected I'm only getting any kind of continuity reading between the first and third pin, no other combos.
