What are your opinions on burning cottonwood?

Somewhere near the bottom of my list. Would only process it if:

1.) I was cold and had nothing else to choose from
2.) It was in my way and I had to get rid of it

+1 Yup. Would still drag it home over Ailanthus/Tree Of Hell though.

Last year we had some big ole quaking aspen down, I bucked it up,split it then stacked it so this burning season we have about two cord we will burn in the shoulder season, that way we save our better wood for the colder months.

Makes great brush piles that burn nicely. Cottonwood also makes great shade trees and nice trees for treehouses for the kids.
