Minister of Fire
Western Forest Products supplied the Dangle Head Processor, the Hydraulic Grapple, the logs and their Dry-land Sort at no charge to the grad Class of 2012. The wood is sold in the community to raise money for their grad ceremony.
The Dangle Processor did the lion's share of the bucking. The Hydraulic Grapple split a lot of the bigger rounds using its log heel and spread the logs for the men who bucked with saws.
There was a interesting variety of wood splitters. There is even a man siting down at his splitter!

You can almost smell the wood in those pictures. Good stock of kids up there making it happen!

They did 120 pickup loads and ran out of orders. Started at 7:30 and were done by 1:30 .

The Dangle Head Proccessor made a big difference. It can really buck the rounds in a short time. It made short work of four highway logging truck loads. And in spite of the wet day, the Grads did not hold back.

In spite of the rain it was a lot of fun. The grads did a barbecue under the portable shelter. The batteries in the camera died or there would have been more pictures of the crew eating.

That sounds like an excellent way for the grads to make a few dollars. Good for them too for working even in the rain. I doubt it hurt anyone and I'm betting a good time was had by all.

I was thinking of you when I took this picture  The operator made this splitter himself and several people have hired him to split their firewood. Says he's already made enough to pay for what it cost him to build.

Looks like he did a good job and he is even splitting the right way! Great that he can hire out to do the splitting.

The fellow is no spring chicken . I told him about you sitting to split and he said sitting is the only way to split wood

Somehow, I like that man even though we've never met.
