have a Quadrafire 1200i Pellet stove insert that up until this year has been flawless. The unit is 7 years old and I had it cleaned last week as I do every year. After it was cleaned I noticed the unit would not turn on when set to higher than room temp 70-75 degrees). I was told by chimney sweep that it was the control box after he troubleshot it for about 30 mins. I replaced the control box and the problem remained, after investigating myself I found out the thermocouple was bad (wire snapped under the cover). I replaced the cover and thermocouple and the unit fired right up, the only problem was it was not feeding enough pellets to keep the fire going. After further research I learned the setting on control box needs to be set to #1, did this and it works just fine. Now my thermostat reads 70 degrees no matter how long the fire burns (burned all last night without shutting off), I replaced the thermostat today with one similar from lowes (one red wire and one white wire) and it comes on fine but will not shut off unless done so manually. What could the problem be? Please advise, I'm going crazy trying to figure this out!!

What type of thermostat do you have? If remote, make sure batteries are fresh.
Then double check all connections looking for loose wires.
If you are still having issues, shut down the stove, unplug it for 15-30 minutes and then try again.
This are generic trouble shooting steps, hopefully the Quadrafire users will give more input.

Hey DO, and welcome to the forum.
You're sure you hooked up the wires to the t-stat correctly ? It doesn't matter which color wire goes to which t-stat terminal block on the back of the stove connection, but it does matter at the wall end. Is the anticipator on the t-stat adjusted to the lowest setting ? Posting a pic of your replacement t-stat and the wiring hookup would help.
I hope you kept the old control box that you replaced with a new one, which was apparently functioning OK, as a back-up ? It seems to be common 'buck shot' troubleshooting for repair techs to reflexively attribute a stove problem to a bad control box, which unfortunately is the single most expen$ive component to replace on a pellet stove. And as you found out, can often end up not fixing the problem.
For that reason, if the control box is at all in question, we've taken to recommending Quad folks take their control box out, after UNPLUGGING the stove (standard disclaimer), and take it to a local Quad dealer (or someone close they might know who has a comparable stove model), and have them run the suspect control box in their floor model, to see if it reproduces the problem.

Spoken from a Quad owner who has done a lot of 'ready, fire, aim...ing', and threw a lot of parts at my stove problems, particularly before I found this forum !
