Premiun pellets, is there a length limit?

Is there a size limit of pellets for them to be considered a premium pellet?

According to the PFI specs that I have... "Premium pellets should have less than 1% pellets with length greater than1-1/2 inches.

This means that you may see longer pellets but they should be limited to that small percentage.

When I was looking at the Quad Santa Fe, I had a dealer specifically tell me the stove was really great, & a good value. The one flaw with the stove, however, was that if you put in pellets longer than 1.5", you will get jams. In other words, keep the pellet length short.
