Problem with a Breckwell P2000i

Hi,
Thanks for allowing me into the group. I have an older(2004?) stove that I recently had to replace the convection blower. After replacing the stove starts normally but once it’s up to temp the fan comes on at high speed. I doesn’t not chage speeds when I adjust the heating levels. Is it the board? Thanks for any and all input!

Hi Jason welcome to the forums, this new motor, was it an aftermarket or OEM. Most of the new ones on ebay and some sites are not made to run with variable speeds (only 1 speed usually high).

It’s an aftermarket motor. It stated it was a direct replacement by NBK motors.

Yeah its a single speed. These sellers they get ya by offering a cheaper version of a known expensive item. And they cover thier ass because it does “fit” the stoves they list. Just doesn’t function like oem. I’ve seen that same blower for $60.

Good to know... I always figured the speed was controlled by the board and how much voltage it would put out to the motor...
Possibly put a ceiling fan speed control in and just manually control motor speed?

Jason contact your seller and ask to return because it doesn’t function right you might get you $$$ back. Hes got good feedback maybe he cares and will give a refund

That just it Z you cant use speed controls. It will only run with a certain amount of amperage/voltage. Its either on or off. Low voltage wil just make it hum and get hot.the control board fan circuit does the same thing as a celing fan rheostat.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the info. I was able to return the motor at a cost of $35. Lesson learned. I ordered a oem motor from a stove store for$169. So much for saving money! I also called Breckwell customer service and told them what was happening and they told me my board was bad. So if the new motor works I guess I did save ! Again, thanks for the responses.

Let us know if you do have trouble with your board. there's a few of us that like to dabble in board diagnostics and repair.
