Quad Classic bay 1200 night time issue

So I have a classic bay 1200 free standing unit, manufactured in 2009. Its in good condition and I recently deep cleaned it and took a wire wheel to the firepot, replaced the gasket on it, and replaced the combustion motor gasket as well as the gasket to the little square plate behind the lower right door, so its CLEAN! My problem and question is, the unit turns on and runs perfectly...then when the temp reaches where the thermostat is set to it turns off. THEN when the thermostat calls for heat(red call light on) it doesn't turn on automatically, I physically have to go down there and push the reset button. What is going on here? I dont want to have to get out of bed all cold and shivering and go press the reset button to get it to turn on every time, totally defeats the purpose of having a pellet stove, might as well get a wood stove where stoking it is expected. I did search google, and then this forum popped up in the first results and then I searched this forum...nothing. So can I get some help here. I understand that the little ceramic thermocouple cover could cause strange temp readings to occur when its worn??? And the snap disks, how do you reset them? Is there a microscopic reset button I'm not seeing with the naked eye or what?

What thermostat are you using? Have you had the venting swept this season yet?

Before you push the reset button, are there pellets in the burn pot?

Check thermostat connections, might be a control board issue, wiring to combustion blower, but if reset is starting the cycle, I'd check the control board, make sure it is seated properly in its holder.

No, just the red call light is on. But heres something....I turned the thermostat up to like 75 and it stayed on all night..not on the entire night, but it cycled as its supposed to. I'm going to unplug the control box and use keyboard cleaner compressed air to blow out the connections and plug it it back in and see if that helps. I can't imagine anything will change...

If you have the thermostat that came with the unit, it may have a high offset on it. I have seen some with a +/- 7 degree swing on them.

First things to check. Hopper slide open far enough ? Pot bottom closing the whole ? Pot bottom hinge bolt loose allowing pot botton to hang down ? Lower door below pot bottom not closing the whole way ? Did you clear the nipple on the auger tube that the vacuum tube is connected to ? Is the ceramic cover slid on to make sure the thermocouple is touching the end inside of it ?

I had the same thing happen to my CB1200. My stove would run for hours and just stop burning and sometimes it would run for a few minutes before it stopped burning also the call light would come on and I had to reset it to get the stove to fire up. I made sure my thermo couple was good and touching the end of the ceramic tube. I thought the vacuum switch was going out and checked it and it was good as well as all the snap disc switches. I pulled the cover off of the auger motor and hooked it up directly to 120V and verified the auger was turning. Put pellets back in and it worked for a while and stopped working again. Pulled the pellets out, hooked up the auger motor and noticed that the auger would turn for a while then stop. I pulled the auger motor and found that the set screw that connects the auger motor shaft to the auger was loose causing the intermittent problems with the auger turning (slipping on the motor shaft). There is a set screw for the auger motor to shaft and a set screw for the spacer ring. When the thermostat calls for heating the call light will come on. If for some reason the fire does not start the control box will not sense a flame and lock out the auger motor from feeding pellets. The call light will still be on and the only way to start the cycle again is to either hit the reset button or cycle the thermostat.

Make sure you unplug stove before removing or installing a control box, or you will toast it. kap

I would check wire connections on exhaust fan. That should be the next step when call light is on, and stove is calling for heat.

If you have a multimeter set it to millivolt and check where the thermocoupler connects to the control box. I believe it has to be above 12mV for pellets to feed. The red call light will stay lit but the stove will shut down if it goes below. I would also try loosening the wing nut that holds the feed gate and pull it up all the way. This will ensure that you are getting the maximum amount of pellets you can into the burn put per rotation of the auger. After you have figured that it is operating the way it should you can start bringing the feed gate back down, just watch your multimeter as you adjust it to get things dialed in.
