Our Quadra Fire CB 1200 is having issues with the stove start up cycle. This is the third time we've had this issue and have been able to fix it for the issue to just come back up again 5-8 days later...

When the stove begins its start up cycle the blower will only run for about 5 seconds before turning off for a minute to repeat this cycle. We have gotten the single amber light on the control box upon plugging the stove back in. We know this is an indicator for thermocouple errors, but we've changed the thermocouple twice now in 15 or so days.

Each time this problem has happened, we've done a full cleaning, replaced the thermocouple twice and replaced snap disk 3. We've been on a weekly cleanings cycle of vacuuming out the stove, pulling the drop tubes, blowing vacuum switch tube and daily ash pit emptying (basically trying to stay on the manual cleaning recommendations).

Just looking to see if anyone else has run into this issue and what have you done. We're likely going to change the vacuum switch next, but at this point we're just getting frustrated with this stove all together....

Sounds like it could be the control box. How old it it? Surge Suppression always used?

Nuisance shutdowns. Low flame. Sawdust buildup in hopper. Feed motor is reversing. Defective thermocouple. Defective control box. Firepot more than 1/2 full. Increase feed by opening feed rate adjustment control rod located inside hopper. Clean hopper, see page 30. Check for good connections between feed motor and wire harness. Replace thermocouple. Replace control box. See page 31 for detailed instructions for “High Ash Fuel Content Management”
