I recently bought a house with Woodstove in the basement and I know nothing about it. The model number is almost gone, I believe it says model b6. The previous homeowner said they used it frequently, but without the blower. I wired a plug onto it and plugged it into a surge protector and it tripped, so my assumption is the blower motor went out and the original homeowner just cut the wires to it.

I'm pretty handy and mechanically inclined, but this is new territory. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

NOTE: I am familiar with terms like fire, wood, and ash, so talk stupid to me

First thing is have the entire system inspected by a chimney professional

That appears to be a Riteway coal/wood furnace model although I could be mistaken. Need a picture taken from further away to be more certain.
