So, it was friggin humid all summer here in NE Pa and I didn't clean/prep the stove at the end of last season. So...I go to vacuum/clean it yesterday and I've got a bunch of surface rust on the burn pot and impingement plate. Do I need to remove the rust before trying to fire it up?

And yes, I will try to clean it out at the end of the season, but for now just wondering if it's OK to run the stove as-is.

I would, just use a scotch pad and remove what you can. It should be fine
