with the day temps. getting into the 70's and nights little cool i was
thinking about killing the power to the central boiler during the day
and then turning it back on at night to heat up my domestic hot water
for showers and wash.will this work? with the unit on all day the heat
from the pex pipes in the basement is making the house a hot house..lol

Yes -

I did this with my CB and it worked fine. By cutting the power during the day or when I didn't need DHW - night too - I saved wood and didn't heat up the house much. If you run the circulator you do lose heat even if not pulling any.

I isolate all my heat loops in the summer with ball valves and supply only the sidearm. Do you turn down your aquastat in the summer?
