i say it every year, i says it again...i like a good concert, though i go to fewer every year (either the concerts are too expensive or the bands i like are dying off). i begin this season on friday next by going to see Yes (the band, for those who think i'm being silly). They are without Jon Anderson on the singing, instead they have another Jon, normally the lead singer of another prog rock band, Glass Hammer (not too shabby a band either). This time they Mr. Geoff Downes on the keyboards, he was in the band many years ago, and also, is not too shabby (though he is no Rick Wakeman). they plan to attempt to play 3 albums in their entirety, which, will be quite a feat. This will be my 14th or 15th time seeing them, everytime is a good time.

What about you's? Who gonna see what? Heard Mr. David Bowie might do a tour this year to suppport new album...he's quite the musician. i might shoot for that one as well.

I would really like to see the Eagles before either I die or they die but I was looking at ticket prices and for me and the wife to go it would cost anywhere between $600 and $700. Obstructed seats would be over $500 which I think is insane. The next best thing would be a Joe Walsh concert, guess I'll wait until the Eagles tour is over. I may just wait until a day or so before the show and see if I can find something cheaper on Craigs list.
 
We see a lot of shows but haven't bought tickets to see anyone yet this year. we are skipping Jimmy Buffet this year, I love to go to those shows but I only go when it's on a Saturday, otherwise, we need to take off from work a day before to plan and a day after to recover.

I'm trying to talk my hubby into seeing Joan Baez with the Indigo Girls at the Mann Music Center, but that's not his genre for sure :) I'll sing every song, he would fall asleep.

I was annoyed that the Eagles were at an inside arena, Wells Fargo Center is huge but expensive!

If Bowie comes around, I'm there, no doubt. I'd like to see Annie Lennox again too, she toured with Sting a while back, great show. We see Jethro Tull or Ian Anderson a few times a year. Last year we saw Squeeze with the B-52's, that was awesome.

One of our favorite bands, Southern Culture On The Skids usually plays a local venue in May but they don't have anything scheduled around here yet. If you like fun rock-a-billy music, look them up. No one sings about white trash themes better than them! Plus the bass player, Mary Huff, is easy on the eyes in her sky high red beehive and go go boots :)
 
Couldnt agree more on spring, summer and music. We generally go to alot of concerts but the ever rising prices are slowing us down a bit. Damn I need a loud show, its been a few months longer than normal. Godsmack would be in fine order! Last one we were at was Neil Young and Crazy Horse in Boston last November. Had tickets for GreenDay in Manchester but that was cancelled due to melt down syndrome. :confused:

Oops forgot Shinedown and Three Days Grace last Feb. TDG was fantastic, even with the replacement singer..Shinedown, not so much, the lead singer needs to get over himself and back to his roots.

Seems to be a season of co-headliner bills from the older bands....sweet :cool:

I live 25 minutes from Meadowbrook in Gilford NH, but I wont be joining Adios for Avvett Bros...not my cup O' tea or Eagles: too expensive. I do have tickets for Bad Co/Skynrd, Alice Cooper (wont even mention the other side of that co head liner) and George Thorogood/Buddy Guy all at Meadowbrook. Hoping that venue really gets more rock shows this year as I usually am able to get great seats there. Was hoping for the Heart/Jason Bonham tour to be at Meadowbrook , but that is not happening ;hm. I may try for that at Mansfield if I can get great seats.

OK maybe we are ramping back up this year due to some good shows in my back yard and at reasonable prices.

Its early for the season and hoping to get to many more shows! Sammy Hagar may be doing a tour with the Waboritas, that is a definite great time !

By the way, if anyone gets a chance to see Trans Siberian Orchestra, DO IT ! They are incredible in every way ! !

I posted elsewhere that we're gonna see The Eagles at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts this July. First "concert" for us since James Taylor at Tanglewood a couple three years ago. We DO go yearly to see a local Xmas show - Mountain Snow & Mistletoe with some folks (Chris Shaw & Bridget Ball) who play Adirondack-type folk music along with the Xmax Carols. Guitarist Kevin McKrell, Fiddler John Kirk & percussionist (& resident nutcase) Brian Melick, are also part of the festivities. Also there's a local cover band - Hair of the Dog that we follow closely, but we're not really up to date with the music scene anymore...

That should be a great show at the Casino. Never saw Yes, but did see Anderson Bruford Wakeman and Howe (ABWH) back in the mid 90's. I think that they were distancing themselves from the "Yes" name, or maybe it was a legal thing such as all the years John Fogerty could not perform his own CCR material.

Sully will be there as well this weekend (I think). Saw the Avalon tour 3 times last year..fantastic! Passing on that this time as I am ready for a LOUD show. Funny how stresss and loud concerts go together for an outlet ;)

Bowie touring would be fantastic, so long as he does not end up at Foxboro... not interested in that sort of arena for concerts.
