Recently picked up and installed a st Croix Afton Bay which was manufactured in 2005. I am looking to run the stove on smartstat mode however do not see anywhere to switch t stove t smartstat mode. It appears to have an older control board. In order to run in smartstat would I need to install a retrofit control board? and would anyone happen to know the correct part number for this?

Welcome to the forum. Sorry no one chimed in to try and help you out. Doesn't say a whole lot in the manual (page 7).

There may be something in older threads so try the search function at the top of the page...
Good luck!

My Afton Bay has the SmartStat mode. There is a switch on the control panel that selects Manual, T'stat, SmartStat modes. If you don't have that switch, you may need to update.
This is the control panel I have:

I have a 2005 St. Croix Prescott EXL. Probably the same control board you have on your Afton Bay. I am running a wireless remote thermostat and if I remember correctly there was a jumper wire on the back of the box that I had to remove in order to allow it to run in smartstat mode. You do not have to open anything, it should be visible on the back of the contol board housing.

This may be the one you want, the site has others:

I'm not sure I only had the control panel opened once but there might be jumpers inside.

Mine is like heat seekers with the little switch

Can you put a pic of your board on here ???????????
