Can anyone tell me what the factory setting is on a scf 050 damper? I've read about a pencil diameter as a start but the screw on mine would not be long enough. I would like to know where the damper should be as a starting point, I need to install my vent which is on order but would like to have some idea where to start.

Yes a pencil diameter is a great starting point, worked perfect on our St Croix's.

Try buying a longer screw if you think that's needed.

Note there is a small set screw on shaft that should be lossened before moving flapper valve.
