I am changing the stovepipe and chimney on my Hearthstone Homestead stove. The connection--on the rear-- to the stovepipe is an oval to round adapter that came with the stove. The round pipe connection is a couple inches LOWER than the oval stove connection. Would it not be better for the pipe connection to be HIGHER? I can reverse the adapter to do this but I will need to drill one hole for a screw connection. I am wondering if the orientation of the adapter was for aesthetic reasons to lower the stovepipe closer to the center of the stove. But that makes no sense to me. Given that horizontal stovepipe is supposed to have an upward slope, it seems odd to have it start with a downward movement.
