Question:

There are two wall switches on the wall beside the gas fireplace. The top switch ignites the flame. What is the purpose of the second switch?

Answer:

My guess would be to turn off a blower....but it might be something else, or even nothing at all. You will not know til the unit heats up since the blower may also have a thermostat on it which does not allow it to turn on until the unit heats up.
